REDUCING NOISE AND INSTABILITIES PRODUCED BY THE BLADES OF ROTODYNAMIC IMPELLERS

This paper specifies, discusses, and offers practical solutions to two transient effects which are caused by the motion of the impeller-blades. These are: 1. Noise generated by the passage of the impeller-blades past the volute-tongue, and 2 Instabilities which appear at the inlet of an inducer, at reduced flow-rates and low NPSH.
