120 MW BOILER REHEAT TUBE LEAKAGE'S ANALYSIS AND REMEDIES

At Koradi Thermal Power Station we are having four boilers of 120MW capacity each supplied by M/S A.C.C. Bobcock Company. The frequent tube leakages were observed in boiler due to which ther was a tremendous generation loss of power and revenue on it. The frquent tube leakages in the outlet reheater zones since 1991 were referred to Metallurgy engg. Department of Indian Institute of Technology, Powai. The present paper highlights the causes of reheat tube failures and preventive measures to be taken by both operation and Maintenance staff.
