The microstructure and mechanical properties of the Ni-33Al-28Cr-5.5Mo-0.5Hf alloys, treated under temperature 900℃ with a 10T high magnetic field, are studied in the present paper. After high magnetic field treatment, found that the room temperature bending and tensile strength of the alloys are increased by 75% and 100%, respectively. Electron probe microanalysis shows that the Heusler phases at NiAl/Cr (Mo) grain boundaries are partially dissolved and the small Heusler phases particles at Cr (Mo) and matrix phases interfaces almost dissolved into NiAl matrix. It is suggested that the Heusler phase solution resulting from the high magnetic field treatment improves the mechanical properties of the NiAl intermetallic alloy.
