Stress analysis of the bogie frame by usingrnthe finite element method has beenrnperformed for the various loading conditionsrnaccording to the UIC (International Union ofrnRailways) Code 615-4.rnMultiaxial fatigue analysis methods such asrnsigned von Mises method, and typical criticalrnplane theories were reviewed, and multiaxialrnfatigue analysis program (MUFAP) has beenrndeveloped. Fatigue analysis of bogie framernunder multiaxial loading was performed byrnusing MUFAP and finite element analysisrnresults.rnThe procedure developed in this study isrnconsidered to be useful for the fatiguernstrength analysis in preliminary design stagernof railway components under multiaxialrnloading condition.
