The Mechanics of Interfaces for Polymer Composites

This paper presents a brief review of the previous studies on interface mechanics. Some ofrnthe better-known mechanics models are critically examined with regard to their applicabilityrnand limitations. The investigations on interface mechanics carried out in the CAMT at thernUniversity of Sydney are presented which cover the following topics: methodology andrnapplication of the models; critical factors in stress transfer and interface debonding; andrneffect of interface properties on the mechanical behaviour of the fibre composite.
