Preparation and characterization of Mg-Al hydrotalcite nanoparticles

Mg-Al hydrotalcite nanoparticles were synthesized by liquid Na2CO3 as precipitators. The product was characterized by XRD, SEM, TG and TEM. It is confirmed from XRD that the samples whose interplanar distance of (003) planes is 7.796 A have typical hydrotalcite structure, high purity and ultrafine. TEM images show that the well-defined hexagonal sheet crystal is gained.
