摘要

The procurement of mobile microwave scatterometerinvolve the consideration to ensure vehicle and equipmentselection full-filled technical requirement and safety standardin Malaysia. Designing, and modification works involve engineeringmethodology in determining and selecting a suitablehydraulic telescopic boom that suit a selected vehicle availablefrom the market. The vehicle is also a delivery system formicrowave remote sensing equipment and other accessories toany locations in Malaysia. Total loading to be carried by thevehicle is about 4500 kg and its overall weight must be 16,000kg as recommended by hydraulic telescopic boom manufacturers.The telescopic boom will elevate microwave scatterometersystem and antenna to a maximum height of 27 m,and can also be rotated through 360°. A mechanism is incorporatedin the system to enable tracking or monitoring angularmovement of the hydraulic telescopic boom when positionedtowards required target.
