Experimental Study on Shear Performance of RC Columns without Hoops on Couplers Part 5 Comparisons with Foreign Shear Strength Evaluation Methods

Sixteen shear critical column specimens with differentstructural design such as existence of couplers, shearreinforcement ratio and shear span ratio, have been testedto examine the shear performance of columns, inparticular columns with mechanical couplers. In Part 4,the shear strengths were evaluated using Japaneseevaluation methods. This part investigates applicability offoreign methods for the shear strength evaluation.
