Pulling It All Together: Louisville MSD's Critical Repair and Reinvestment Plan

In 2017, Louisville MSD (MSD) completed a process to produce a Critical Repair and Reinvestment Plan (CRRP) to cover all its system; including wastewater, stormwater, flood protection, property management, and programmatic systems for the next 20-years. As MSD approached completion of a wet weather-related Consent Decree, a new long-term plan for the agency would be needed. The projects developed to complete the Consent Decree were well documented and prioritized but only addressed overflow control. MSD's other areas of responsibility did not have the same level of vision and the previous planning for them was scattered across numerous documents often created in silos. There was a need for a consistent approach to create a single, comprehensive plan for MSD's next 20 years.
