摘要

The focus of this paper is on the development of electromagnetic loss models of a translational motion reluctance force motor driving a pneumatic compressor. Finite element analysis software is the primary analysis and simulation tool for these studies. The motor in question uses a soft magnetic composite (SMC) core. Many properties of the SMC material such as high resistivity and isotropic flux paths provide for a unique case. The results of this study are beneficial for motor rating and for design enhancements.
