Textiles for the millennium

摘要

A new technology for coloring fabrics with transition metals and metal complexes is borrowed from the field of immunology. Metal colloids, particularly gold colloids, with particle sizes ranging from 5-80 nm, have been used by immunologists to bond to antibodies and locate diseased sites in tissue. The colloids are formed by reacting a nucleating agent with a metal in solution to precipitate the metal.
