Zeolite Y was treated by the chemical approach using (NH4)2SiF6 aqueous solution.Zeolite beta was prepared by hydrothermally treating NH4-Beta. The series of Wni/Y,Wni/Beta, and Wni/Beta+Y catalysts were made using the treated zeolite Y, zeolite beta,and treated Y and Beta as the acidic components, respectively. The catalysts werecharacterized by BET, TEM, XPS, NH4-TPD. The reaction performances onhydrodesulferization, hydrodenitrogen, and hydrodearomatics were evaluated with lightcycle oil (LCO). The zeolite containing catalysts exhibited much higher HDN, HDS, and HADactivities than the Wni/Al2O3 catalyst. HDN activity among the three zeolite containingcatalysts was identical. HDS activity of the Wni/Beta+Y and Wni/Beta catalysts was higherthan that of the Wni/Y catalyst. The higher HDN, HDS, and HAD activities of the threezeolite-containing catalysts were mainly associated with the enhancement of hydrogenationactivities and the increase in acidity.
