摘要

A technique to predict the failure rate of a distribution recloser is described in this paper. The prediction is based on field inspection, recloser age, duty cycle, past maintenance, and environment. Because inspection practices differ among utilities, the technique will apply to whatever data is available, and make the best prediction from that data. Examples of using the technique are provided. Predicted failure rates can then be used in system simulations to predict system failure rates and reliability indices.
