Non-Darcy (or non-linear) seepage through dam foundation occurs in dam foundation of sand and gravel, near the drain holes and pumping wells, and when the hydraulic gradient is sharp. The theoretical and empirical laws for non-Darcy seepage through dam foundation are analyzed and summarized. By means of the theoretical solution method, the model for non-Darcy seepage through dam foundation is solved to determine the hydrostatic seepage pressure and the seepage discharge, which are also compared with the corresponding linear seepage solutions. It can be proved that the non-linear seepage law cannot be approximately regarded as the linear seepage law in analysis of non-Darcy seepage through dam foundation.
