摘要

Active faults, seismicity and tectonic stability of the Hainan Island have been studied us-ying modern remote sensing technique combined with the analysis of geology, earthquakes, volcanos and hot springs of the region where surface geological investigations are hindered by active neotectonic movements, heavy rainfall, dense vegetation and severe weathering. Stability zonations of the region are also discussed, which could serve as scientific bases for earthquake pretection and disaster mitigation as well as reconstruction plan of Hainan Province.
