Non-contact interferometry, a new tool for fiber outside diameter measurement and calibration

Improved fiber drawing equipments for fiber outside diameter measurement, control and calibration have been tested. Non-contact interferometry has been applied both in static for calibration with a high accuracy measurement device and in dynamic for high rate on-line measurements of diameter variations which can be used at high drawing speeds.
