The results of triaxial tests are always susceptible to instruments and operations, and it will also take considerable time and money to conduct the tests. However, the numerical simulation can reduce the unfavorable effects mentioned above and verify each other with the triaxial tests. In this paper, consolidated-undrained triaxial tests of silty clay under normal temperature were simulated by FLAC3D. Different models were built by combining some basic grids, such as cubes, pyramids, and so on. A kind of hexahedron grid model suitable for the simulation of triaxial tests conducted on silty clay with high precision was established. Then an effective method based on FLAC3D was proposed for the simulation of triaxial tests of silty clay. Comparison of experimental and numerical results indicate that the stress-strain curve has a good consistency in the ascent stage, and the relative error of ultimate strength is less than 5%. The numerical results are in good agreement with those of tests, and there is a good coherence in the stress path. It can be concluded that the numerical simulation can be employed to replace some tests and regarded as a supplement to the laboratory tests, which can reduce the workload and lower discreteness of the results. The paper is also a micro-level validation for the rock-soil mass analysis. The new understanding obtained here will provide some reference to numerical simulation based on FLAC3D.
