Severe cracking developed in the fusion line between low-alloy CrMo and high-alloy CrNi (Incoloy 800 H) materials due to hydrogen disbondign. to monitor the weld area closely, a four-channel, PC-based AE-monitoring system was installed. Two years of experience with the system shows that it allows for the remote advance analysis and troubleshooting at a considerable cost savings.
