Many of the well accepted and extensively used rainfall-runoff models are eitherrndeveloped for the temperate or humid climate areas in Europe or USA. Whereas,rnin the Indian context, there are no standard rainfall-runoff model exists for anyrnclimatic regimen within India. Therefore, there is a need to identify a rainfallrunoffrnstructure which suit well to the climatic regimes of India with theirrnpredictive ability.rnThe research is aimed at conducting catchment modeling forrnbetter understanding of hydrologic functioning and runoff generationrnmechanisms of the Malaprabha catchment and selecting the best conceptualrnrainfall-runoff model that can be used in the design, planning, and managementrnof water resources in Malaprabha catchment
