AWWA G300 Standard: Steps to Protect Source Water

One of the main goals of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) is to support waterrnutilities in evaluating and improving their water quality, operations, maintenance, andrninfrastructure. Several different programs and types of publications are used to support thisrnmission. One key program is the AWWA standards process, which has existed more than 100rnyears to produce peer-reviewed standards for materials and processes used by the water andrnwastewater utility industries. These standards, which are American National Standards Institutern(ANSI) approved, are recognized worldwide and have been adopted by many utilities andrnorganizations. The AWWA standards program is designed to assist water and wastewaterrnutilities and their service providers to meet expectations of their customers, investors, andrngovernment regulators. The standards developed under the program are generally intended tornimprove a utility’s overall operations and service.
