The development of a systematic approach to management of hazardous (lead) coatings from structures, buildings, and facility components is becoming an increasingly important safety, occupational, and environmental healt issue. The growing number of current and proposed federal, statc and local regulations require strict controls on activities involving lead exposure and environmental release. However, the high costs involved with safety and environmental compliance on lead paint removal projects focuses increased attention on proper design, engineering and execution of work to obtain properly protected structures at competitive costs.
