This paper provides details regarding the successful repairs to a number of turbine casings. The includes the initial evaluation of a turbine casing to determine the cause and extent of cracking and the feasibility and scope of repairs. It also provides details pertaining to successful repair techniqus. Finally, it illustrates some of the potential pitfalls involved in repairing casings, including re-cracking and distortion.
