Application of Discrete Ordinates Code for Beam Line Shielding Analyses

Neutron beam lines at the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) require bulk shielding because of the large high-energy component of the neutron beam streaming though the guide to the instruments. Normally the beam line shielding design is performed with a Monte Carlo particle transport code like MCNPX.
