Optimization of Sequential Extraction for Lake and Ocean Sediment

Sequential extraction methods are very useful in determining the host phases of radionuclides in various matrices. It is particularly important to understand the advantages and limitations of different extraction protocols. The NIST sequential extraction protocol will be examined for reproducibility using a lake sediment standard reference material (SRM 4354) and an ocean sediment standard reference material (SRM 4357).
