In the rotating machinery, it is desirable to develop technology to predict bearingrnwear in order to optimize the machine replacement cycle, which would minimizernoperational costs and maximize operational reliability. In the case of vertical pumps,rnwhich have a long under-floor column pipe, it is difficult to detect the wear of submergedrnbearings by measuring the acceleration of the motor above floor level. We developed arnnew vibration measurement system that measures shaft vibration from outside the pumprncasing using an ultrasonic echo signal, and diagnosis systems that can predict bearingrnwear and bearing replacement time from measured shaft vibration.
