An asymmetric sintered metal filter element for microfiltration

摘要

This paper describes the characteristics of an asymmetrically designed sintered metal filter element. The asymmetric structure of this newly developed metallic filtration media endows it with high filtration ratio and at same time with good permeability. This high permeable metal media has the advantages of good economics, high pressure and temperature capability, wedability, recyclability and is suitable for microfiltration and sub-microfiltration. Experimental investigations were carried out to evaluate this filter element in terms of filtration efficiency, permeability, contaminant holding capacity, mechanical properties, thermal and thermal shock resistance.
