Water clarification by ultrafiltration in an immerse d membrane system and its intensification can be achieved successfully by using specific module configuration and optimal operational conditions while filtrate quality is not affected by theses conditions. The critical permeate flux depend on operating parameters. High permeate flux was obtained about 65 to 70 L/h/m~2 even if filtration was operated under high concentrated suspension of 5.0 g/L. According to the supracritical conditions, a drastic increasing of the Transmembrane pressure (TMP) was observed in all tested conditions. The localization of turbulence from aeration system can minimize it but can not avoid it, so particle formation always appeared on membrane surface. Moreover, this particle cake is more observed inside the fiber bundles than in the capillary network. The hydrodynamic cleaning by aeration only can detached easily a large portion of deposition from the hollow fiber module. In opposite, no deposits are lifted away from capillary surface even with high air flow rate.
