Application of Submerged Non-woven Fabric Membrane Bioreactor to Treat the Wastewater from Food Industry

A novel submerged membrane bioreactor with non-woven fabric membrane module was used to treat the wastewater from food industry. Test data showed a good performance with concentration of biomass between 6143 mg/l to 9585mg/l and volumetric concentration 1.6 Kg COD/m~3.d at proper operating condition. Under these condition, the results indicated COD removal efficiency over 95% producing effluent COD around 90 mg/l when influent COD was about 2600 mg/l. The stabilized permeate flux was achieved and maintained at 1.2m~3/m~2.d. Now, a pilot scale non-woven fabric membrane bioreactor with 120m~3/d treating capacity was designing.
