'MEDIATION' - A PROPER TOOL FOR RISK ASSESSMENT IN TUNNELLING PROJECTS

摘要

To arrive at a quantitative assessment of "risk", the "probability" as well as the "damage" of risk-relevant events must be determined as discrete figures. As the determination of the "damage" of an extraordinary event is possible by conventional cost and time evaluation, the "probability" at which such an event could happen can be gained by "mediation". This method of interdisciplinary consens finding was applied with success within risk assessment for 3 railway tunnels in Austria.
