New Advances in Scrubbing Incinerator Off-Gas

In summary, the application of System REITHER~TM technology to treat solid waste incinerator off-gas is an innovative and cost effective approach. System REITHER~TM is a simple and compact design, with the flexibility to handle variable flows while still maintaining high efficiencies. In this application, System REITHER~TM was able to scrub fine, sub micron particulate as well as acid gases associated with the waste stream, all in one stage. It is easy to control by simply using pressure drop across the throat. In fact, if throughput of the incinerator increases in the future, the system has the flexibility to handle as much as 40% more flow simply by adjusting the throat and maintaining the predetermined pressure differential. From a maintenance point of view, there is little chance of plugging or other flow restrictions which can cause upsets. A simple hose down of the internal surfaces on a periodic basis can be practiced to remove any material from the walls of the system.
