4.1 The atmospheric mass concentration of total suspended partical(TSP) of mineral dust was high in spring(especially from the middle of March to the end of April) and the size-segregated aerosol(SSA) distribution of aeolian dust is unimodal with maximum concentration at stages of 3.3-4.7 μm or 4.7-7.0 μm at Qira oasis during the three IOPs. 4.2 There were relative too much snow in winter of 2002. Therefore compared to IOP 2002 and IOP 2004 , there were not so many dust storms happened during IOP 2003. The aerosol characteristics of TSP and SSA is in line with the variation of meteorological factors. 4.3 The dominant soluble ions of coarse particle range are Na~+, Ca~(2+) and Cl~-, SO_4~(2-). And these soluble ions have the same distribution pattern as total aerosol concentration with a maximum peak from 3.3-7.0 μm range.
