Behaviour of various kinds of carbon in carbon-containing refractories

There are many kinds of carbon in carbon-containing refractories. In this paper, the crystallization and oxidation resistances of the carbons have been investigated. During heating., Al_2O_3 accelerates the oxidation of graphite, whereas TiO_2, and MgO inhibit the oxidation of graphite.
