DEVELOPMENT OF DEDICATED NUCLEAR HEAT ONLY DESALINATION SYSTEM FOR UAE

摘要

The world is suffering from a serious shortage of fresh water, which is essential for the health of all life and environment on the earth. The world is now paying attention to nuclear desalination, which uses energy released by nuclear fission to desalinate seawater, as a solution to the water crisis since it is g enerally cost-competitive with desalination process using fossil fuels and virtually free of greenhouse gas e missions. To help resolve challenge in United Arab Emirates, which is one of the countries facing a severe wate r shortage, we suggest here a dedicated nuclear heat only desalination system with innovative design characteri sties for its successful implementation of nuclear desalination.
