Standardization of WEVC systems is important and necessary to allow a large-scale roll-out of this technology Standardized infrastructure coil systems are needed to ensure that any vehicle coil system can be tested against the standard (e.g. safety, performance, EMC) Vice versa, standardized vehicle coil systems are needed to ensure that any infrastructure coil system can be tested against the standard (e.g. safety, performance, EMC) Worldwide WEVC standardization work is done in IEC and ISO - but also a major regional standard is developed by SAE First standards are expected end of this year - but lots of challenges still need to be solved, e.g.: Worldwide EMC compliance (different spectrum use in many regions!) EMF (including implantable medical devices/pacemakers) compliance Harmonized communication protocols.
