Some months after Industrial Minerals held its Lithium Supply & Markets event in Santiago de Chile, there's still wringing of hands about the lithium industry's ability to serve the growth expected from the advanced automotive battery sector. And the focus seems to be on continental brine sources -- producing and prospective - implying that some heads remain firmly in the sand concerning the very real potential for non-brine sources. Is there enough of it? Even if there is, can existing brine producers respond in good time to meet demand? What about the longer term?
