Abstract: A tip-tilt secondary system has been developed on a 2.3 m telescope. The system, called FASTTRAC, stabilizes image motion to less than 0.1' rms at closed loop corrective frequencies of $LSEQ 100 Hz. Resolutions of 0.19' and Strehl ratios of 0.14 have been obtained in long exposure images at 1.6 $mu@m in seeing conditions of D/r$-o$/ approximately 4. FASTTRAC is unique in its ability to use infrared guide stars (K $LSEQ 8). Recently FASTTRAC was upgraded to accommodate a low read noise CCD, allowing faint visible guide stars to be utilized. We anticipate that guide stars of R $EQ 17 will be adequate at correction frequencies of 30 Hz.!12
