The problem of energy supply for large cities has to besolved by allowing for the fact that a considerable amount of energy is consumed for heat supply needs,i.e.,for heating premises,for hot-water supply, etc.rnThe construction of heat routes is related to significant capital investments;therefore, the distance between the heat sourse and consumer has to be at a minimum. As a result, when choosing the reactor type for a nuclear heating power plant (NHPP), special emphasis must be placed on the most complete and reliable solution of radiation and nuclear safety problems.
