This paper investigates grinding forces, grain states and chips in creep feed grinding tungsten carbides by using a resinoid bonded diamond wheel in grinding speeds up to 80 m/s. Experimental results indicate there is a tendency that grinding forces incease as grinding speeds increse. Through SEM observations of diamond grains, chips and work-piece surfaces, it was found that chips are easily cohered and detained at grains cutting edges and results in grain cutting edges becoming blunt and hardly cutting-in. This indicates the possibility of the cohered chips increasing grinding forces.
