A previously verified non-equilibrium two phase heat transfer model coupled with two hypothesis models is applied to evaluate the effect of the design and operational parameters on the performance of a pebble bed integrated in a solar house.The effects of the factors including solar radiation,the mass flow rate,and the height of air entry on the performance of energy charging were investigated.It is found that the solar radiation contributes to hotter upper air in the solar house.Charging rate is affected by the mass flow rate but also has a positive correlation with pump energy consumption.Also the higher air entry helps to store more energy in the pebble bed.All the above results are drawn under two extreme hypotheses,from which the practical conditions can be inferred.
