This study gave a comprehensive insight to separate and synergistic effect of four important microclimate parameters on human thermal comfort in outdoor environment.A long term (almost 2 years) field investigation was conducted at six typical public spaces of a provincial capital in China.Based on the sufficient field data,the variation in people's outdoor thermal sensation caused by each microclimate parameter was carefully analyzed.Further,a regression model was developed to quantify the synergistic effect of all the outdoor microclimate parameters.The results revealed that outdoor microclimate parameters,especially outdoor air temperature and solar radiation,play significant roles on human outdoor thermal sensation when people stay outdoors
