Ground source heat pump (GSHP) system has attracted more and more attention in the past decades due to the superiorities of high energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.There are many existing GSHP systems have been monitored to evaluate their thermal performance.However,how long we need to monitor a system is indistinct in order to evaluate it accurately.This paper studied the thermal performance of GSHP system in short-term and long-term.The evaluation results showed that it could reflect the system operating conditions credibly when the monitoring lasted for 3 years or above.And it might has more possibilities to obtain accurate results when a short-term assessment in winter is conducted.In summer,proper test results during an appropriate period can also be obtained in the short-term assessment
