To study the influence of buoyancy flows generated by a single building on the urban ventila-tion and thermal comfort, an in-situ measurement was carried out on a 50 meter high-rise building. The temperature of wall outside surfaces were measured by infrared camera and thermal couples. The flow along the south facing wall was measured by ultra-sonic anemome-ters. The measurement was taken continuously for 53 hours under clear and calm background weather condition. The building was still under construction when the experiment was con-ducted, so the influence of anthropogenic heat could be minimalized.rnThe Rayleigh number reached 10~(14). The wall surface temperature on different directions are different. Therefore, the magnitude of the flow speed generated by natural convection along different walls are different. The flows generated by different walls above the building roof will merge into one thermal plume. The non-symmetrical plume will be formed above the building roof. (148 words)
