The detailed removal processes of water droplets from aluminium surface with effects of 20 kHz ultrasonic vibration were visually observed. The removal of water droplets under different ultrasonic powers was comparatively analyzed. In addition, comparative studies on the removal probabilities of water droplets in different diameters were carried out. The experimental results indicate that the residual water droplets resting on aluminium surface can be instantaneously removed by means of ultrasonic vibration in less than 1 second. It is also found that the removal probability of water droplet will increase with the increase of the ultrasonic power and the droplet removal probability can reach to above 90% in the condition of high ultrasonic power 800W. The results verify the feasibility of water droplet removal from aluminium surface by ultrasonic vibration, which provides a possibility for water droplet removal from surface.
