A Decomposition Strategy for Synthesis of Flexible Nonsharp Distillation Sequences

Based on a decomposition strategy, a method for solving the problem of synthesis of flexible non-sharp distillation sequences is proposed in this paper. The addressed problem is formulated as a Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) problem. Two examples are used to illustrate the performance of the proposed method and the optimality of the solutions are discussed.
