Delegation Model for Enforcement of On-demand Service Level Agreement

As the use of software components and online software services continue to gain momentum, it is becoming even more critical for application service providers to find a convenient way to negotiate, manage, and enforce their service level agreements. In this paper, we address the new challenges faced by application service providers and service developers whilst adapting and enforcing agreements for their software services. We augment the traditional service level agreement specifications with an extended and refined definition of metrics. The new agreements contain flexible terms that can describe a wide range of measurements for software services. Finally, the paper proposes a generic delegation enforcement model to help the providers monitor, measure and license the on-demand software services based on the managed service level agreements.
