The collaboration of voice recognition software, structured query language (SQL) and a data warehouse integrated on a Visual Basic Application platform can facilitate an environment of a full-cycle query. A full-cycle query and reporting system is a system built so that end users can retrieve information from a repository by issuing a natural language question and not have to depend on an otherwise complex structured query. The system will include: Voice recognition, voice to text feature, a natural language parser that will transfer the natural spoken language into a query, and a dynamic feature that will execute the query and retrieve the precise answer in a chart or report format. The development of the full-cycle system will also feature an interactive intermediate step that will enable the system to confer the information with the user. Thus, the goal of the voice-activated interface is to facilitate the use of a data warehouse by untrained users and not limit the use of the data warehouse to technical specialist.
