Strategy for Model Formalization in Preliminary Design

摘要

A general method for the formalization of models adapted to the specificities of preliminary design is proposed in this paper. This methodology allows overcoming the lack of tools in decision support systems devoted to design. This method is interested in the embodiment design phase of mechanical systems following the requirement definition phase. The approach being developed binges upon the system functional characteristics and the qualification of formalized models. This qualification is performed in regard to intrinsic criteria of models defining the design risk associated with the model and guiding the designer through the modellingprocess.
