摘要

An arrayed waveguide grating design in 3-dimensional space is proposed to achieve high number of demultiplexing channel and to remove high-order harmonic at the same time . This proposed method takes advantage of irregularly sampled 3-D zero crossing algorithm and sub-input planes. Each sub-input plane is designed to produce demultiplexed output wavelengths, and they are displayed as each rows on output image plane. This scheme suppresses the higher order harmonic diffractions when it is used in grating structures, and also opens the possibility of higher number of wavelength channel in a single stage by extending 3-dimensional geometry from 2-dimensional one.
