SOME EFFECTS OF SHELLING ON THE SLS RAPIDTOOL~(TM) PROCESS

The RapidTool~(TM) Process is an indirect way to produce a metal mould insert using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) as the main process. Although it is called 'rapid', the SLS processing of a mould insert can take a long time. This work reports experiments on shelling the mould insert in order to reduce the process time and discusses the outcome of this alteration on the SLS RapidToolT process.
