Using TR19 (18 MeV on target, 250 uA) and GE PETtrace 880 machines (16.5 MeV on target, 130 uA), our team has established preliminary saturated yields as high as 3.4±0.4 GBq/μA. Optimization continues on the PETtrace systems with early results suggesting yields exceeding 1.8 GBq/ uA. Preliminary data suggests ~(99m)Tc radionuclidic and radiochemical purity in excess of 99% is possible with an appropriate balance of ~(100)Mo isotopic purity, energy and irradiation time. Beam current is the most effective metric for boosting production yields while maximizing radionuclidic purity within an established set of production metrics.
